Who's ever tried to manually find the ‘‘real world impact” of health and medical research?

Date: Thursday, 7 September

Time: 1:10 PM - 1:40 PM

In a world of academic metrics, it can be difficult to obtain meaningful insights into the real impact of research on society and health outcomes.

As part of our vision for a healthier world, BMJ engaged extensively with the medical and health research community to understand the evidence that demonstrates genuine real world impact in the field and how it can be discovered.

In the course of this research, many research managers in health and medicine shared the challenges that they face with information overload, time, and data quality.

The insights gained from this initial research, together with those gained through extensive prototype testing with medical funders and universities fed directly into the development of BMJ Impact Analytics, which was launched in collaboration with Overton this year.

This new impact tool is the only one in the market dedicated to health and medical research. It helps users quickly find, track, and share the real-world impact of research on health and social care. If your organisation funds, publishes, or produces research or policy, BMJ Impact Analytics can help you discover citations in clinical guidance and health policy worldwide.

Join this Lunch and Learn session, presented by Michelle Phillips, Open Research Product Manager at BMJ, to find out more about BMJ Impact Analytics.

Speaker biography:

Michelle Phillips is the Open Research Product Manager at BMJ. She has extensive experience in academic publishing, with a particular focus on real world impact and bridging the gap between research and policy.
